The City by the Sea

Palacios, known as the City by the Sea, will celebrate its centennial in 2009. This unique town is located on Tres Palacios Bay, which becomes part of Matagorda Bay. It is home to one of the largest shrimp fleets in the state of Texas, with over 400 boats hailing from the port.

If you enjoy fishing, birding, or just enjoy the peace and quiet of a small, friendly community, you will love our town.

The Chamber sponsors Market Days on the fourth Saturday of every month. Vendors are welcome. For info, call 361-972-2615.

At the June Chamber meeting, Dee Aupperley from the USDA presented Mayor Joe Morton with the Champion Community Designation.
